VIAVault is an automated video ingest, transcoding, and storage solution for solid state, high definition video camera media.

INGEST
VIAVault allows footage to be automatically ingested. VIAVault accepts popular memory card formats including SDHC, P2, SxS and many otheres. Resident footage is automatically placed into a secure, redundant disk‐based storage environment.

ARCHIVAL
VIAVault automatically retains your footage within its high-capacity, secure storage system. Your hours of footage are instantly stored, retrievable and protected from mechanical failures – all in a single location.

TRANSCODING
VIAVault automatically econdes ingested footage to formats best suited for your non-linear editing suites. Support for Apple Final Cut, Adobe After Effects and Premier, Avid Media Composer, Sony Vages, and Newtek SpeedEdit is available.

ACCESS
VIAVault automatically meta-tags your footage upon ingest. Items such as date, time, duration and thumbnails are included. You can locally or remotely browse and search the files stored within VIAVault through a simple and secure web‐based interface. Ingested media can also be accessed via FTP or network drive shares on Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX.

Additional Specifications

• Automated Watch Folder‐based ingest of media from media cards; simply place the SDHC card into VIAVault and the ingest, transcoding, and archival processes occur automatically and alert you when you may remove the card


• Accepts SDHC memory cards from JVC and certain Panasonic cameras; Optional support for Panasonic P2 and Sony SxS and Memory Stick Pro/Duo cards is available


• A secure web interface provides a modifiable username and password that allow for search, thumbnail

review, and retrieval of content via Web Browsers, using HTTP or HTTPS

• An Integrated FTP server allows for reliable large file transfers; MD5 checksumming ensures data integrity


• Internal media storage is accessible as a network drive anywhere on your LAN, and is platform independent; allowing you to easily share media between PC and Macintosh based non-linear video editing systems


• Redundant, reliable, disk-based storage; RAID 5, 5EE, and 6 options for data speed and reliability


• 1-4U rack‐mountable form factor; redundant power supply units (PSUs)
